GAVI FOREST

Gavi is a forest village in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. It is located 28 km southwest of Vandiperiyar, a town in Idukki. Gavi is inside the Ranni reserve forest. Gavi is a part of Seethathode Panchayath in Ranni Taluk. Gavi is also part of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Both day and night stays are available in Vandiperiyar or Gavi. Forest tenting and trekking are also arranged by Tourist Department of Kerala. Beauty of forest and presence of animals like Wild Buffalos, Elephants, Indian giant squirrel, deer and variety of birds can enjoy on this trip. Stay in Gavi needs to be booked previously, there is no private hotels or resorts on the way from Pathanamthitta to Gavi and upto Vandiperiyar in Idukki.
